A crew deconstructed Manlove Cabin and moved the pieces to nearby property owned by Helena Area Habitat for Humanity (Habitat) in October 2024. A log cabin originally built in 1864, Manlove Cabin is East Helena’s oldest structure. The deconstructed cabin will be stored on the Habitat property, which Habitat acquired from Montana Environmental Trust Group (METG). Once funds are raised to rebuild and restore the cabin, plans call for reconstructing it on another parcel that Habitat intends to develop as a park with trails.
