METG is partnering with the local community in early discussions of redevelopment opportunities for the East Helena site.
In June 2016, East Helena Public Schools officially acquired a 50-acre parcel of land on the Dartman Field portion of the East Helena site. While it will still require some environmental remediation, the land was accepted as a donation from the Montana Environmental Trust Group in a process that took almost six years. The land acquisition will be used in the future school district expansion needed to accommodate and support a rapidly growing student body.
