East Helena Smelter Public Meeting and Open House

The US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the Montana Environmental Custodial Trust (the Custodial Trust) are sponsoring a Public Meeting and Open House on June 20th. Representatives from EPA and the Custodial Trust will review the 2012 Interim Measures Work Plan, which describes cleanup plans to be implemented at the former ASARCO Smelter later this year.

The Montana Environmental Trust Group (METG) is hosting a meeting to present information and answer questions about the cleanup of soil and groundwater contamination related to the former ASARCO Plant in East Helena. The Environmental Protection Agency, Montana Department of Environmental Quality and Montana Department of Justice will also be available at the meeting.
