Invitation to Nov. 14, 2012 Public Meeting: Draft 2013 Interim Measures Work Plan

The US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the Montana Environmental Trust Group, Trustee of the Montana Environmental Custodial Trust, are sponsoring a Public Meeting and Open House on November 14th to review the Draft 2013 Interim Measures Work Plan, which describes cleanup plans to be implemented at the former ASARCO Smelter next year.

2012 Upper Lake Drawdown Test – Draft Technical Memorandum, Sept 2012

The Montana Environmental Trust Group is conducting an Upper Lake drawdown test at the former ASARCO smelter site (the plant site) in East Helena, Montana.  The purpose of this test is to simulate, at least partially, the effects of eliminating recharge from Upper lake on plant site groundwater levels, flow rates, and contaminant loading to groundwater.

Invitation to Oct. 3, 2012 Open House and Stakeholder Review of Redevelopment Conceptual Plans

The US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the Montana Environmental Custodial Trust (the Custodial Trust) will hold a public open house on October 3, 2012 from 6:30 to 8:30 PM at the Custodial Trust’s new offices in East Helena.  The purpose of the open house is to review the most recent conceptual plans for potential future redevelopment of the former ASARCO properties in East Helena.
